    Hi all,
i just installed ExpressionEngine v 1.6.7 with godaddy host.
installed the Discussion Forum Module 2.1.1.

when clicking on visit forums in the control panel it is sending me to the website home instead of the forums home.

    any ideas?
    thanks,

    Sol

    Sol,

First of all I would advise you to upgrade your version of EE and your version of the Discussion forum

What do you have set for Forum URL under General Setting in your Forum Board Preferences
CP Home ›  Modules ›  Discussion Forum ›  forums ›  Forum Board Preferences

A 500 error is always the server’s fault. Do you have access to the error logs? They should be able to tell us a little more.

    sol8,

Have you run the installation wizard (step 6)? Are you installing EE 1.6.9 or EE 2.1.0?

ok i got my old version to work with this fix:
alter the $qtype command located near the top of the index.php file in your main site folder. It is most likely set at “0.” Change it to “2” and all the links in your template should work fine.

    thanks for all your help!
