    A client of mine is having problems working in the admin system for his ee website.  He will be working for a while but then it will take him back to the login screen

    This is a description of his problem in his words:

    “It goes to the login screen at different point, there is no consistency. It could be when I click a page to edit or it could be when I click on the template tab.
    Some times it ok for a few minuets, as long as I don’t click around from page to page. Then it will start going to login screen. If I press back on the browser it will go to the previous page and then sometimes let me click on something different.”

    I had a look at this entry http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/134074/#661701 in the forums and made the changes to the config.php file suggested but it made no difference for him.

    He’s tried both Firefox and Internet explorer with Cache and temp history cleared on both.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi k8?x,

    Just to clarify, you haven’t experienced any these issues? Is your client accessing the site from his company premises only or is he experiencing these issues from multiple locations?

    Cheers

    Yes that’s right, I’m not having any problems using the system.
    He’s behind a company fire wall, I thought this could be causing problems

    k8?x,

    Were these the changes did you added to your config file?
    Note I uncommented the hashed out lines from the example in the thread you linked to.

    $conf['user_session_type'] = "c";
    $conf['admin_session_type'] = "c";
    $conf['allow_multi_logins'] = "y";
    $conf['require_ip_for_login'] = "n";
    $conf['secure_forms'] = "n";

    Can you ask your client to try from a home computer maybe. Something that is out of his office environment?

    Thanks John, The client has just got back to me and he’s happy- he says “I just clicked around the site for about 10 -15 mins with no problems. Great!”

    the original changes I made were the hashed out ones which didn’t work.  These new ones (no hashes) seemed to work a treat!

    Are the hashes used to comment out a line?

    Glad things are working again for your client. The hashed lines shouldn’t be in that example.

    Don’t hesitate to post again as needed.
