Sorry to say the Button “View Rendered Template” when editing a template/file still does not render the latest file changes on localhost version of EE using build 20100720.

In a previously closed thread (http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/161708/}, I had the same problem on an internet server (While also, having the same problem on my localhost). It was closed because John Henry fixed the problem with the internet server, by going to ADMIN/system Administration/database settings and clicked “NO” for caching “Enable SQL query caching” which as John Henry Says “Seemed” to fix the problem…  All I know is that on the internet server it worked, after his fix, on the internet server files.

I still have exactly the same problem with the localhost which is still build 20100720.  I made sure the caching button was switched to “NO” as mention above, I also verified the caching is “NO” for both   “enable_db_caching”  and “enable_sql_caching” as detailed using ADMIN/Overview.

Is there an update coming soon to fix this bug ???  OR can John Henry work his magic again??

Again… seems simple enough… “View Rendered Template” only renders the cached version of the first save of the template, no edits after the initial save are rendered using this button.

    Wooden Thumb,

If you FTP into system/expressionengine/cache and delete all the folders inside there bar the index.html and the .htaccess.

They may have been created there before you disabled your db cache

Setting the db cache to no only stops the creation of those files. If some exist already it may be causing the same issue for you.

Let us know how you get on.

    Hi John Henry….

Yes you were right…  I used this information for the localhost file structure and found the cache folder and deleted per your instructions above…
They still came up rendering with the wrong template….. until, I went to “Tools/Data/Clear Cached Data” and cleared all caches and my templates rendered perfectly….

Thanks for your patience and spreading your magic around!
