My headhunter boss wants to have a Client Dashboard where his clients can log into and see a list of the various whitepapers/documents that have been generated for their particular search so far, as well as status updates particular, candidate selections, etc. for them.

    Some requirements/considerations:
    1) Easily uploaded to/updated by the recruiters.
    2) Shows the contents just to the client based on their login.
    3) Differentiate between a Candidate and a Client (different style dashboards/offerings).

I’m still new to EE and php, but am trying to think of the best way to approach this.

Can this be done with weblogs, or is there a better way through php or such?

    Thanks,
    Dan

Hi Dan - are you on EE1.6 or EE2?

I have a kind of dashboard the way you’re talking of for my client support site. I have a member group (client company) and members (people who belong to that company).

I’ve used Restrict Entries extension that will restrict access to weblog entries depending on member group id (don’t want member group x seeing tickets belonging to group y).

My code is available here http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/160612/#773767

Shooty in then - my templates should give you a decent understanding of how to deliver.

I’m looking it over and checking out the extensions and such…  Thanks a lot! I’m going to try to map out what I need more specifically, too.

Have a gander at Leevi’s interface for their old Newism tracker http://emberapp.com/leevigraham/images/bugtracker-newism-bugtracker-0003/
