    Hey All,

I’ve installed EE in a subfolder on my site (http://www.mydomain.com/eeinstall/) for testing and skinning. Eventually, I will want to move it to the root (http://www.mydomain.com/).

Is there anything I need to change when moving the site to a new directory? Or do I just move the files?

Welcome to the forums, Mike! Yes, you’ll want to move the files and make sure the configuration and path settings are changed accordingly. That’s it, really.

    Thanks Ingmar!

I assume by configuration and path settings you mean “CP Home›Admin›System Preferences›General Configuration”???

Do I change the configuration settings before or after moving the files???

    Thanks again!

    Mike,

You can change them after moving files. Your control panel will be unstyled though until you change the first few under exactly where you say in your General Config.

There are a few other places then to change paths including Weblog preferences, File Upload Preferences,  CAPTCHA Preferences, Emoticon Preferences, Membership Preferences .  If you save templates as text files, update the ‘Basepath to Template File Directory’
