Hi All, hope someone can help.

I’ve created a user and added them into the ‘members’ group. This group has posting privileges to my ‘blog’ channel. When I log in to the website using this member account, the status dropdown in my ‘add entry’ SAEF only ever has ‘closed’ as the status. If I log in as a super admin account, I get both ‘open’ and ‘closed’.

My channel has a status field set.

Am I missing a setting somewhere?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Sarah,
If you go to Admin > Channel Admin > Custom Status Groups and click on Edit for the open status in the relevant group, does your ‘members’ group have access to the open status?

Just what tidy says, it looks like your Channel doesn’t have a status group assigned to it. Please check that.

Hi guys, thanks for the replies.

I’ve checked and the members group DOES have access to the open status. Any other suggestions?!?

    Thanks.

You will need to assign a template group (the default one, probably) to the channel, too.

Hmm, I’ve not changed anything in the CP and all of a sudden it works! DB caching?

    Thanks for your help.

    See http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/getting_started/create_status_group.html

This page speaks about creating a status group for a channel. You’ll need to actually assign one to that channel.
