About two weeks ago, our search feature stopped functioning. It now just points to our homepage. Our programmer has been trying to fix it but has been unable to make any progress. Here’s what he emailed me this morning:

“I’ve looked into this for about an hour so far.  EE is so confusing - I am not sure what is wrong with it.  I was thinking it must be the target page but the target is correct as per the EE forums.  However, it seems to be pointing to the index.php page instead of what the target value is.  I am wondering if this target is set somewhere inside EE and not inside the actual page template. I am at a total loss with what’s wrong with this.”

    Any suggestions?

What version and build of EE are you using? When you say it “stopped working”, has it been working fine before? If so that would suggest some change to your server environment or configuration.

A link to your search page might perhaps help us better understand the nature of the issue, too.

    We are using version 1.6.7

You can search from any page on our site: http://www.journeymexico.com

Yes, it was working fine up until about two weeks ago. We used the search feature daily.

As I’v said, a sudden stop would indicate something changing on the server. If you didn’t install anything or made other significant changes, can you rule out any changes to the server environment by your host? You might want to ask them about it. Also, an upgrade to 1.6.9 is recommended.
