This question may be related to a resolved thread.
I’ve done a lot of test updates from 1.6.9 to the betas. In all of these cases, I could login to the CP after completing the upgrade, but not with the production version. Upon entering the account name and password I get bounced right back to the login screen.

There’s a lot of troubleshooting in that thread, what exactly have you tried so far? Which version and build of EE2 is this with?
