This question may be related to a resolved thread.
Some people reported this as fixed but forme it’s not. I did apply the fix but now I get a push forward of one hour (instead of like 5).
I am on a clean install of EE 2.1 with MSM.

One hour, that’s likely just a DST issue or something like that. Are you observing DST? Is your site setup that way? Are your entries?

My timezone is set to UTC -5
Daylight Saving Time : Yes
Honor the Daylight Saving Time setting associated with each channel entry? : Yes

I’m having the same problem. No MSM for me, but Structure is installed.

Same issue here on fresh install of 2.1
Original entry time ok.
Each edit adds 4 hours to the date.
Time zone UTC -5
Daylight Saving Time : Yes
Honor the Daylight Saving Time setting associated with each channel entry? : Yes

Hi Lisa,
As I said in the first message of this topic, this fix prevent the time from jumping several hours, but there is still a jump of one hour in the future at each edit.
Ingmar Greil suggested it might be a DST thingy, but as far as I know our settings (Mine / shinka and Dwight) are correct. And even if our settings were wrong, there is no reason for our entries to “auto jump” forward in time 😉.

Welcome to the forums, Dwight.
Hi Lisa. Thanks.
The hotfix did help but there is still that one hour jump when editing.
The original entry time is right so my localization settings appear to be correct, but each subsequent edit moves the date time forward one hour.

Dwight & Thierry,
Can you each tell me what you have for your localization settings under your Account and also under Admin please

Hi John. I’ve got it sorted out now and all seems to be working correctly.
I had to correct the server time zone and set ‘Honor the Daylight Saving Time’ to NO
It now reads…
My Account Localization:
(UTC -5:00) Eastern Standard Time, Western Caribbean Standard Time
Daylight Savings Time: Yes
United States
English
Admin Localization:
Server Time Zone: (UTC -6:00) Central Standard Time [eh server]
Server Offset: <Blank>
Default Time Formatting: United States
Daylight Savings Time: Yes
Honor the Daylight Saving Time setting associated with each channel entry? : NO

Thanks for the update, Dwight.
Thierry, please let us know what you find.
#12 / Jul 16, 2010 10:20pm
Under my account:
Timezone : UTC -5
DST : Yes
Time Formatting : United States
Language : English
Under admin:
Timezone : UTC -5
Server Offset : blank
DST : Yes
Time Formatting : United States
Language : English
Honor DST : Yes
I tried to emulate Dwight’s settings (Changing the Admin Timezone and Honor DST settings) and it looks like he nailed it. I am oblivious as to why this solves the jump… I am happy we (well Dwight) have it sorted out, but do you have an explanation? I am a little curious 😉.

Hi Thierry,
Glad that you got this resolved. As for your question, in this bug report Robin gives a good explanation of what happens with DST enabled that I think should help.
Cheers
Greg
