Blank pages following a pmachine import

    First time user of EE, attempting to migrate a pmachine 2.3 site.

    I used the import utility, and step two confirmed the import of 1138 weblog entries. They are visible in the CP, and also in the archive list. However, clicking through from the archive to a specific entry renders a page with no content - and no error.

    Likewise, the site’s index page contains no blog entries, but also seems to be missing other elements.

    For instance, the index page source begins:

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN”
    “http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd”>
    <html >
    <head>
    <title></title>

    Where is the title?

    Within the body tag, the blog div is also blank, apart from the link back to http://www.pmachine.com

    Things are not quite right in the CP either. Logged in as the owner of the primary blog (there was only one blog in the pmachine install), the list of ‘Most Recent Weblog Entries’ is fine, but the ‘Site Statistics’ shows

    Total Weblog Entries   0
    Total Comments   0

    So why isn’t the imported content showing up in the new site? How can I check that the weblog entries have imported correctly?

    Thanks.

    I realised I’d changed the name of the default blog, and that, I think, explains the lack of weblog entries showing up on the home page. Now I just need to sort out all the special characters which showed up fine in pm2.3 but are garbled in the new database. Damn those character sets.
