I currently have my EE install (1.6.8) in a sub folder on my server, called “members”. I want to move the index.php from the “members” subfolder, to the root of the server, but leave all other related files in the “members” folder. What is the process for doing this and keeping everything intact?

    Thanks.

You’ll need to move both index.php and path.php to your domain root and then modify the system path in your path.php file accordingly.

This resource may help with that: http://expressionengine.com/docs/cp/sites/domainsetup.html

Thanks Erik, for the fast response. I appreciate it.

Sounds easy enough, except that I have a lot of full paths throughout the site, rather than relative paths. I’ll figure that part out. I had forgotten about the path.php file.

One thing I forgot to ask.

Do I need to change any configurations in the Admin area, regarding paths?

As long as the path to your system directory is correct in path.php and system/config.php you should be good to go
