I want to create a business listing channel where the state and zip code are dropdown’s. What’s the best way to do this?

I use FieldFrame’s Select field type for this. It’s really easy to use and quite handy. If this is not what you meant in your post, feel free to correct me!

    Hey Liam

Thanks for your reply. I’m using EE2 so since Field Frame isn’t ported I’m guessing this functionality must be built into EE2.

Field frame was not ported as EE2.0 has built a system similar to it - in other words that allows easier custom field type creations.
However, Brandon Kelly’s (Pixel and Tonic) select box now i think is part of either matrix or playa - cannot remember which. I know playa does offer support of this, but i think it is also related to pulling in other channels and multi selects.

There are however other field types for select and multi select drop downs - have a look at devot-ee to find the ones that are EE2 ported.

Thanks nevsie. I’ll have another look at devot-ee to see what’s available. 😊
