Is there a way to check for duplicate data within an expression engine web log?

I’d like to create a stand alone entry a web log however, I’d like the form to check for duplicate entries from a combination of two fields and throw an error message back if the duplicate data exists.

No, you would have to create an extension to have this functionality. However, someone may already have done this. Have you had a look at what’s available at Devot-ee?
