Is it possible in the “Options” tab of the Edit Entry page to hide the “Author” field for a certain member group?

Ouch, my pet hate - an “I figured it out post” without the bit you figured out. 😉

oops! Yeah, when logged in as a Super Admin, you have in the Publish page the ability to use the “show toolbar” link which enables you to show/hide fields, add/remove tabs and “Publish Layout” (at bottom of toolbar pane) for a specific member group. For this purpose, I made the Edit page for my Members group only show specific fields - of which Authors is not shown.
