Right now I don’t have another domain so I want to use the same domain right now for my second website.

    http://www.domain.com (the default site)
    http://www.domain.com/site2 (second site)

I created another site and copied all the template groups from my default site for site2. How do I go about creating the site2 folder so that when I click on the index link in the admin to render?

Hi FCII, and welcome to the forums. A few things:

    1. Which version and build of EE are you using?
    2. Did you follow all of the Multiple Site Manager instructions?
    3. Does the template you’ve specified as the index for your second site properly appear at http://www.domain.com/site2 ?

Yes. Although I’m confused on how to do the optional global variables since I copied the variables from the default site. I get this error on the page when I try to view it.

Site Error: Unable to Load Site Preferences; No Preferences Found

    The url is http://www.website.com/site2/index.php/services/index/

Sure it’s not “website.com”? Do you’ve got a link? What version and build are you trying to use? This does involve the MSM, correct?

    I’m using ExpressionEngine v 1.6.8

The link I’m trying to get working is
    http://www.hqadsolutions.com/fccadsolutions/index.php/services/index/

The link for the default site is
    http://www.hqadsolutions.com/index.php/services/index/

All I’m trying to do is have the second site be exactly the same but just change some text and css using the MSM. I duplicated all the variables and template groups and redirected the path of the index.php and followed the MSM instructions.

It looks like your secondary site can’t access the database correctly for some reason. Make sure config.php is correct, and that you have followed the MSM setup instructions to the letter. You might also want to consider upgrading to 1.6.9, it’s a recommended update.
