    Hi there,

    I am using the Email Entry Extension to both post Newsletters on my Client’s site and also provide the option to email the entry. However, when the email is received, the images that were uploaded into the entry are not showing up as if they are not linked correctly.

    I create my entry and upload an image file into the entry. Doing this gives my image a URL of “/images/uploads/image.jpg”

    So, when I receive the test emails that I am sending myself from the communication module, I click see the image box with a red X in the middle and click on “Download unsafe images” in my email client, and that image is not downloaded.

    If I put in the entire http:// URL of the site for the image, it shows up just fine. However, making my Client do this every time they upload an image into their entry, is unreasonable as they are not super computer savvy.

    Is there ANY way that I can get these images to show up on their own without having to change the coding EVERY single time the entry is created in an email?

    Hope that makes sense 😊

    What version and build of EE are you using? Are you talking about the Entry Mailing extension?

    When you receive the mail, does it have the images attached? I would imagine it’s only linking to them, in which case I really see no way around using a full URL.

    Using 1.6.8 build 20090723

    Yes the Entry Mailing Extension is what I am using. The most recent version.

    WHen I receive the emails is shows a box where the image should be and, when I click on “download unsafe images” in my email client the box remains blank with a red X in the middle…

    Because the images are uploaded through the entry form, is there some way to automatically insert the FULL URL instead of just the simplified directory??

    Hi Robin,

    You’re right that full URLs are what is needed here. We don’t have control over that extension and cannot support it, but I would contact the author as that sounds like an excellent feature request.

    I posted a thread on the creator’s website and received this answer, which worked! So, I figured I would post it here just in case someone else needs help with something similar

    Use a BASE tag:

    <head>
    <base href="http://www.w3schools.com/images/" />
    <base target="_blank" />
    </head>

    <body>
    stickman.gif
    <a href="http://www.w3schools.com">W3Schools</a>
    </body>
