Working with CodeIgniter for past 2 years (but not writing much about it 😉 ), here are three external libraries that are bound to make your life easier when you choose CodeIgniter to develop your web application:

The Libraries are:
1. EZAuth (Authentication)
2. Ocluar (Layout Library)
3. DataMapper (ORM)

Layout Library is OCULAR, but i prefer Collin Williams Template Library:

I want to add external libraries that useful while i develop until now :
- cezpdf (ros pdf)
- fpdf

Other is all of open source code (css,js,php,ajax) and Jquery with it’s plugin.

Phil Sturgeon’s Dwoo library gets my vote as a library that will make your life easier. Dwoo is a Smarty variant with PHP5 support in mind, so the syntax is very similar to Smarty, only simpler and it makes much more sense.

Dwoo is a templating library for PHP that lets you write nice web templates that don’t contain PHP code but are still powerful and easy to use. If you’ve used Smarty, you should totally migrate to Dwoo.

geshan, i was told the same thing that you have talked about CodeIgniter. i hope it will be helpful to make work easier as you have told. i am going to check it out and after that i will let you know.

Other libraries that i have ever use in coding are :
- Open Flash Chart (http://teethgrinder.co.uk/open-flash-chart/)
  To make a chart in Flash which there is an animation too.

- PHP-excel (http://code.google.com/p/php-excel/)
  To make a spreadsheet view in php.

- PDO Database Connection.Adodb5 (http://code.google.com/p/php-excel/) 
  Although PHP itself has it’s own pdo i’ve ever heard but using this library is good. But for Linux user
  like me, who want to access Ms.Access is not able to use this library (And perhaps Linux user can’t
  access Ms.Access currently whatever the way :( ).

By some libraries we can use besides Code Igniter,Css,html,JavaScript Framework, coding in PHP is so delight.
