Hi,

Please note: this issue is with v 1.6.8. (I noticed a few posts regarding Metaweblog problems with 2.0)

Our problem is with the old version, and it’s really weird, because we have certainly gotten this working before without issues, using 1.6.8 on this same MediaTemple gridserver!

Following the instructions here:

1. Enable MetaWeblog, configure settings (click to view screengrabs):

2. Create new MarsEdit connection (click to view screengrabs):

  (am prompted to enter EE admin login credentials

You can see, no joy.  This has worked before.  Any thoughts on what we are missing this time around?

What happens if you change the “Blog ID” in MarsEdit to “blog” instead of “3”?  Also, I assume you are testing this with very basic content (text only, no tags)?

I just tried both ‘blog’ and ‘Blog’ where previously I had the numeral ‘3’

It’s really odd.  Not sure what to check next

When setting up any sort of MetaWeblogAPI, you always want to set the status from within EE. Since I’m the only one using it, I set it to open.

You do need to use 3 for the weblog ID. I have MarsEdit working for both my EE1.6.8 and EE2.01PB installs. I’d be happy to test this for you. For software, I use Other. Give those two changes a try first.
