Hi,

I’m wondering whether it is possible to create a form to edit selected member data (some custom member fields) in regular templates outside of the “member” area or the CP?

I’ve set up a SAEF and a SARF and at least I need a SAMDF (Stand Alone Member Data Form 😊).

When I’m calling the Classmethod directly via

{exp:member:edit_profile}

the engine is rendering all profile fields.

My question: Do I have to build a custom module (or do I have to use Solspace’s User-Module)? I’m still using 1.6x.

Hi F. Albrecht,

There are no default tags to do this. You have several options (not in order of preference or simplicity):

1. Use PHP in one or more templates to provide a suitable form, check the posted results and update the member profile appropriately
2. Create a custom module
3. Use a 3rd Party solution (like Solspace’s User module)
