    Hi,

    one of mine EE installation was moved to another server. This was done by the service provider. So he didn’t read the infos in the knowledge base.

    After the move:
    - I changed the config.php file (database, path etc.).
    - Server directory: /httpdocs/dilldapp/mirage
    - path.php

    $system_path = "./mirage/";
    $template_group = "";
    $template = "";
    $site_url = "";
    $site_index = "";
    $site_404 = "";
    $global_vars = array(); // This array must be associative

    Now I have several problems:
    - no access to the CP
    I got the message: The username you submitted was not found in the database
    But user and password are ok. Also I did a reset and tried again.

    If I open http://www.dilldapp.de there is a blank site.
    When I enter the url with template group and template name I got the Status 404 message.

    At least the CSS for the CP is lost.

    What can we do to get the pages back?

    Thanks for your help!

    PS EE version 1.6.4

    Did you or your host edit your database directly? As to the missing CSS, see this article, please. I would also recommend to upgrade to 1.6.8 as soon as possible.

    Hi,

    I don’t know if he did, will ask him.

    CSS is back, thanks.

    I would upgrade, but for this I need access to the CP, which I don’t have.

    Sounds good, just let us know when they’ve had a chance to reply. As to upgrading, all that should be required is uploading the files and running upgrade.php. (Keep a backup, please, as always)

    Got an info from the host. He build a new database and transfered the date from the old to the new one.
    Also he changed the url path direkt in the database, but canceld it afterwards.

    Do you or does your host still have a backup from before the move? I am afraid it might have been corrupted in the process. Editing the data in your db directly outside of EE will break the so-called “serialized arrays”.

    Sounds good. If you can get your hands on a copy of the pre-move db, as it were, consider doing the move yourself.

    Hi,

    the host restored the “old version”.
    Now we will update and then move the installation.

    Thanks for your help!

    Thanks for the update. Let us know how you get on.

    Also a good idea to run the Server Wizard if you are moving servers

    Hi John,

    I used the wizard and the server is compatible with EE. Thanks for the tip.

    The update was a bit complicated. After moving the installation the version number changed from 1.6.4 to 1.5.1 (i don’t know why). It was also not possible to save changes in general configuration.

    At least, after I got the MySQL Error 1060, I changed the version nr. in the config-file to 1.6.4 (thanks to one of the entries here 😊), so the update runs and everything works fine.

    Shortly we will move the installation using the article from the knowledge base.
    I’m sure it might work.

    Thanks
