I’ve got one particular section of my site (database of products) with some hand-made queries which when I browse seems to cause my site to go down for seconds at a time (timeouts). Not every time, but every couple of minutes or so. Never happens outside of this section.

I am the only one accessing this section right now but I am worried that once I make it public it’ll bring down my site in seconds.

Why would this be happening? I can’t think of any reason other than there being tons of fields in the exp_weblog_data table… (up to field_id_247 right now)

    Hi Frychiko,

This may be a combination of how you are constructing the queries and also how your host server is setup. If you switch on ‘Display SQL Queries’ at Admin > System Preferences > Output and Debugging Preferences and then monitor the output, are you seeing hundreds of queries or queries that are taking a long time to complete?

    Cheers

    Greg
