    Hello..

I am a student, and I have developed a site using EE. I am moving the website from test to production. I am not migrating servers but instead just copying the website on the same server under a different docroot with a different URL. The server admin is helping me with the mysql database setup and the apache site for the production and they are also helping with the DNS.

I would want to have both the test website and the production website,

My question is- how can I keep the test website and copy it to the new docroot?

can I simply copy the files into the new docroot, how can I rename the ee files and will I have two different CP’s now?

I would greatly appreciate any help regarding this. Thanks.

You need to export your test database and import into a new separate db for the primary installation.

You cannot run two versions of EE on the same database.
