I just bought MSM and installed it, and i’m encountering an unexpected glitch with my plan!
I split off one sub-site (call it Site B) that was-before- running in parallel with the rest of my weblogs on Site A.
Now- i’m noticing that my members of Site A can see the ‘sites’ drop down in the cp! This is NOT OK, as for them, Site B has no relevance to them. For us, both sites A & B are related, and share some info & weblogs etc (why i decided to go with MSM).

Is there any way to hide the sites drop down in the CP for a specific user group?
(all groups except for super admin)

    Thanks!

Hi, Rowan. There’s a third party add-on that will hide the Sites menu.

    Does that help?

    Hey Sue

    thanks for the quick reply.
yes- that does help. I had a hard time finding anything via searching on the ee site for info on how to do this.
It would make sense include granular control in the MSM to handle who can see the sites menu option and who can’t.

As for the 3rd party extension- Remove “Sites” Tab - I noticed that the Safari & Chrome still display the drop down menu, but the ‘sites’ word is not visible. In Firefox, the sites tab & drop down are hidden.

I will post this in the appropriate topic.

    thanks for the help
