Can someone please inform me, step-by-step, how to publish an article that is primarily text, but contains illustrative Excel spread sheets and graphs?

As you describe what you want to do, my first response would be that it cannot be done.. easily. I searched the forum and did not find any reference to anyone attempting this. Then I searched the web and came up with at stackoverflow.
The discussion at StackOverflow supports my first impression that it would be up a client (visitor’s) browser or computer to render the spreadsheet; however, there is reference to a flash something or other that could facilitate what you want.
Have you thought about inserting a screen shot of the spreadsheet?
