    Hi,

When I started with EE I set up my site in a stupid way.

I made several blogs for each category as opposed to using a single blog and making categories.

I have about 7 blogs. Can I merge all the blogs in a single blog??

If not, what other options do I have?

[Mod Edit: Moved to the How to forum]

    Hi George,

If all the weblogs you created use the same custom field group then you can move entries between weblogs. Please see the documentation on the Options tab when editing an entry.

    Cheers

Well I know I can change the weblog of the entry. But I have several thousand entries.

I was wondering if I can automate this somehow.

    Hi George,

There is no way to automate this apart from directly manipulating the DB using either the Query module or an external tool like PHPMyAdmin. This may be complicated dependent on how your weblogs are set up and is not recommended unless you are confident in your understanding of the EE database table schemas.

Shall I move this to How To for you so that we can get some community input?

    Cheers

    Greg

Why not export the data from the weblogs through templates into a readable CSV format (for instance, comma delimited values) and then import all the data back to one weblog using CSVGrab? You should be able to output the fields from each weblog in an order that will make the output consistent, even if the field order as created was different. In any case, you can take the output from EE and reformat it consistently using other tools before importing it back.
