Mailing list gets stalled when trying to send

I have a very strange problem when using the mailing list. Or not me, but my client do.

The mailing list consists of about 500 recipients and i have configured the email settings to use sendmail and use the batch mode with 50 emails per batch.

When testing on my computer from my office, everything is fine. All emails are sent and the batch mode works without any problems.
But when my client is trying to do just the same from their place on their computer, it gets stuck after the first batch. The page is trying to reload but it just loads forever until a timeout occurs. And when checking the list of sent emails, only 50 (first batch) has actually been sent out.

I have tried almost everything to figure out what is causing this. Their Internet connection isn’t slow, I have tried different browsers, switched from sendmail to PHP mail, changed the batch size, etc etc. But nothing seems to work it out.

Has anyone here encountered this kind of problem before? And if not, does anyone have a qualified guess of what the problem possibly could be?

I’m using the lastest version of EE.

    Thanks.

What version and build of EE are you using? Do they have other issues besides, like difficulties to login or stay logged in, something like that?

I forgot one thing i maybe should mention. And it’s that their internet connection seem somewhat unreliable. I upgraded firefox for them and when downloading, it got stuck a few times, so I had to resume it manually.

I also tried to connect my computer to their wireless network, to be able to outrule either the computer they´re using or the internet connection as a possible cause of failure. But strangely, I couldn’t even find the wireless network, even though they have a very strong signal on their computer.

So maybe i should just consider their office as haunted and abandon this whole project.. 😊

Yes, I definitely think that might have got something to do with it. As you know, the CP needs to be refreshed after every batch. If there are connectivity issues, this might explain what you (or they, rather) are experiencing.

All right, that’s pretty much what I told them.
I didn’t really believe in finding a solution here, just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing out on something.

    Thanks Ingmar.

    Hi biggelo-

Were you able to find out anything else? Or does this definitely seem to be a connectivity issue?

Well, It works just fine for me, so I have to assume it’s either their computer or wireless network that’s the problem in some weird way.
And if it’s not a direct EE issue, I feel there’s not really much I can do. But at the same time it’s frustrating to not be able to tell them why this is happening.

Yeah, it definitely sounds like an issue with their connection, if you are able to get it to work outside of their network. I’m going to go ahead and resolve this thread.

If anything else comes up, please feel free to post again. Thanks!
