Send to a friend has stopped working

We recently had to migrate servers and now all the tell a friend forms appear to have stopped working. I’m pretty sure all the paths are correct in the preferences and the mail function appears to be working okay as I’ve been getting notifications of weblog entries..

    It’s running 1.6.7 and MSM 1.1.

I’m at a loss to think why the move would cause it to stop functioning.

The URL is at http://www.newstartmag.co.uk/news (also the vacancies & blog). Just click the “send to a friend” link next to it.

All help appreciated. I’m moving house today and the client is breathing down my neck….

Can you still send mail via the “Communicate” tab in your control panel? Also, I would suggest an upgrade to 1.6.8 at your earliest convenience. It’s a recommended security update.

I can indeed - that was the first thing I tested.

Trying to submit the tell a friend form generates a not authorized error message. I’m logged in as a superadmin…

1.6.8 will happen when the client opts to renew!

Is the mail address you’re sending to the same one you tested against in the Communicate tab?

No. Well, yes. I tested the communicate panel with both individual addresses and member groups and they both send just fine. As I don’t know the email addresses users were attempting to use, I can’t test against those.

It’s the process of using the tell a friend form which is causing the unauthorised error.

Right, now I’ve had a chance to actually sit down. It turns out that the new server doesn’t like it when forms are submitted in secure mode.

Does anyone know where I might be able to alter the setting in my php.ini file to enable this so I can turn secure mode back on.

dasgrafik, take a look at the exp_security_hashes table. Are all IPs the same, or XIDs?
