Weird caching issue with entry data

    Hi there. I’ve got a really weird issue that I can’t quite nail down and would appreciate any suggestions on. It seems to be some sort of weird caching. Let me explain.

    The EE site is http://citejesus.org

    This is the template contents for the index template:

    {embed="includes/header"}

    {exp:weblog:entries weblog="content" entry_id="2"}
    {body}
    {/exp:weblog:entries}

    And here is the (recently edited) content in the DB for entry_id=2:

    <div id="centre">

    Welcome to Cite (success!)

    </div>

    For some reason, EE seems to be serving up an old version of the weblog content.

    However, if you add some random fluff onto the end of the URL like so: http://citejesus.org/sdfgh or http://citejesus.org/4545454545

    Then EE serves up the correct DB content. Go figure! Now, I’ve tried clearing the full EE cache many times, and tried accessing the site with many diff browsers and ISPs.

    Any ideas on what could be causing this? Is it likely to be EE, or is it perhaps some sort of caching issue with the hosting provider?

    Thoughts appreciated, cheers.

    Now, I’ve tried clearing the full EE cache many times, and….

    Any chance you could FTP in and nuke everything inside your cache folder except for the index file? Are the permissions right on your cache folder.  I think it needs to be 777 /notsure.

    Thanks for the assist, Bill.

    Sam, please do remove all the files in the /system/cache folder except for the index.html file. The permissions do need to be set to 777.

    Does that help?
