How can I show a list of logged-in users in the control panel? I want editors to be able to easily check to see if anyone else is logged in, without having to go to the logs, or to a separate page. Ideally, this would be on the CP Home page.

That works for regular templates…

If you need some protection in the control panel see this extension.
I don’t know if that’s exactly what you’re after… but it might help.

I’ve seen the template tags, but that would require navigating to a separate page to use.
I’m already using the extension, but it only tells me when someone is editing the same entry I am.
I want to see who’s in the control panel at the same time as me.
Thanks for the suggestions, though.

Haha. You know…my fingers were slowing me down 😊

Wow, thanks! Works great!
(But you’ll need to rename the extension file from exp.er_cp_active_members.php to ext.er_cp_active_members.php)

Good catch. I corrected the typo in the file name 😊

Glad to help 😊 I’m glad I saw your thread. This will come in quite hand on one of my MSM installs. I’d just never thought of it before.

Small problem with the extension: It breaks the “Add row” functionality of Brandon Kelly’s FieldFrame extension when using FF matrix (regardless of which field types are being used), but only for user groups below Super-admins. Any suggestions?

That’s really odd. I honestly don’t know how that’s possible - but I’ll take a look this evening 😊

You know what - I know what the problem is…I’ll fix it right now and push out an update to github making it version 1.1.1
Thanks for letting me know 😊

Hi Erik,
I find this a really useful extension and it’s now in my standard build so thanks! 😊
Just noticed the following error when I view the Extension Settings page:
Notice: Undefined index: check_for_extension_updates in /Users/stephen/Sites/sitename/mysystem/extensions/ext.er_cp_active_members.php on line 184
Notice: Undefined index: check_for_extension_updates in /Users/stephen/Sites/sitename/mysystem/extensions/ext.er_cp_active_members.php on line 185
I’m not using LG Addon Updater, and the Dropdown option to check for updates is greyed out as you’d expect. This is with version 1.1.1 & 1.1.2 in EE 1.6.9, build 20100430. I don’t have this error in my live 1.6.8 version, though I guess this is possibly just a local glitch on my local build.
Anyway, it doesn’t affect normal usage of the module, but just something I thought I’d mention anyway.
Thanks.
