I’ve installed the email module and thought I followed the directions in terms of required fields, but I can’t seem to get this contact form to function.  Can anyone see what’s missing?  Thanks for any help!

I don’t see a license attached to your account, is that on a version of EE Core? It does not come with the Email module.

It’s licensed - i just figured out the issue and sent you a PM.

Yes, I got the mail. When you said you “figured it out”, do you mean you no longer require assistance?

No, i meant about what I sent to you via PM.  Still not sure on the contact form issue…

So, have you made sure the Email module is installed? It is not by default. If it is, can you send email using the “Communicate” tab in your control panel? What version and build of EE are you using?

Yes, the module is installed.  EE is version1.6.8 build 20090723.

I tested out the communicate function after creating another account and associating it with my gmail account. It looks like its a server thing due to user nobody being disabled.  I can change that as it’s our server, but is there a way around using user nobody?

I’ve moved this to technical support; we’ll need to figure out the licensing before you can receive further support on this.  Please check your email in a few minutes.

    Thank you!

As an update - when the form is submitted I get this error:

    The following errors were encountered

      * A valid sender email is required

Do you have your email address entered in Admin ›  System Preferences ›  Email Configuration?

Yes.  And I now see the options to use SMTP on that page as well.  Still getting the same error on submission however (valid sender email is required)

I see you’ve modified the form somewhat.  Can I ask you to place the default contact form code from the docs on a blank template and give us a link to that, please?

Ok - that worked for me, no errors.  Can you confirm?
