I have an EE installation (commercial license) containing four template groups which were created by me, plus the original “site” and “search” template groups. I have not used either of these latter two groups, and the “site” group was renamed to “zz_site” to sort of set it aside.

The site seems to be working as expected, but I have recently decided that I’d like to implement some member management (didn’t need it before). However, pointing my browser to “mysite.com/index.php/member_profile/ returns a fatal error message stating that certain directories are missing, etc. and references to the location in the appropriate php files.

The first obvious problem is that I have no directory in “themes” called “profile_themes” as suggested in the docs, eg. [/themes/profile_themes/default]. There exist only the following in “themes”: cp_global_images, cp_themes, site_themes, index.html. I have looked at older backups starting at 1.6.4 and find no “profile_themes” in any of the versions.

Also, in the CP Home>Admin>Members and Groups>Membership Preferences there is no “Default Member Profile Theme” indicated, and no field for same.

To my knowledge I did not delete any directories from the original install, but the installation was moved from a sub-domain to it’s current level after some original dev. work and learning. The backups that I checked for the missing items were made from it’s original location, so they were missing then as well.

How can I get the Member Module working?

    Thank you.

My suggestion would be to simply upload a fresh set of EE files, upgrading to the latest build in the process. We’ll take it from there, then, once we have made sure that all the required files are, in fact, on the server.

Thanks, Ingmar, that was my thinking as well, but I wanted to pass it by you first in case it was indicative of another issue. I’ll do a build upgrade.

Sounds like a plan. Let us know when you’ve had a chance, we’ll be here…

Well, that (of course) gets the member cp/profile working. Thank you. I’m not sure why the files were missing from the original install.

I’ll go back to whatever it was I was doing when I decided to implement membership. I think it had something to do with password recovery from a login in form or something. 😊

    Thanks again.
