or can registered members only comment in the forum?

    Toby

o.k Ive found the ‘edit member group’ section and have allowed acces to the control panel and ‘weblog posting privileges’. so I guess I just need the code to allow them acces to the control panel.

    :coolsmirk:

ah - just log in with your members username/password

    Well, I’ve gone through that,

Admin > Members and Groups > Member Groups > Edit Member Group > Members

And I’m testing it.  So, the member can post easily enough.  And they can edit.

But the post remains “closed” somehow.  It seems that an admin needs to go in and “Open” it.  Thus, their posts don’t appear.

Why is it set to “closed”, and where can I switch it to “open”, or give permission to the user to click “open”?

    Let me know!

Looking in the “weblog management”, administrative preferences, I’ve set the default to “open”, but that doesn’t work.

Will I have to manually open everyone’s posts?  There must be a way out of this!

    Ahhhh.

    Per this post:  http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/135594/

You simply go to   Admin >  Weblog Administration >  Status Groups (which you get at by clicking “Custom Entry Statuses”.)

And create a new status group, which you give the name of your membership group to.  Then assign it to the weblog.

    Who knew?
