Windows Server template display issues

I have a recent install on a Windows server that is giving me a lot of trouble. Mostly due to the web host, the client is determined to run their own host. They installed PHP and MYSQL and I was able to get EE installed.

But I’m having issues with the templates displaying properly, the root still shows the default EE theme even though I have deleted that template group. I also am running into issues with the new templates not showing up properly. It’s almost like the templates are getting cached. I tried clearing the template cache with no luck.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I’ve had to create static HTML pages to serve as the website until I get this worked out.

One thing to note, the server does not have URL Segment Support. I change the settings to force query strings in the hopes that would help, but no dice. I’m sure I’ll need to post some specifics so just let me know what is need and I can get it.

    Thanks,
    Patrick

What version and build of EE are you using? Do you’ve got a link to the site? Unless you have an experienced server administrator at hand I would personally advise against hosting the site in-house, as it were.

Preaching to the choir about the in house hosting, I already advised them to host the site externally. They were not receptive to that at all.

To be honest, this doesn’t look like an issue with your server, since the correct pages are displayed (which, in turn, don’t display what you want, yet, but that’s probably just an issue with the template and as such much easier to fix.)

Which is just as well, because we really have only very limited experience with server configuration, and practically non on Windows based servers.

My advice would be to go ahead, create the necessary template groups and templates, taking one step at a time.

Ok, so template groups & templates are created and still no luck. Still shows the default template on the homepage, unless I link specifically to the template with the full path.

Do you’ve got a link? The one your provided earlier seems to link to a completely static site now. How do you link “specifically to the template with the full path”?
