I’m moving a site to a new server and something has broken. Now, when I login or logout I’m getting redirected to a URL that is missing the “index.php” part. The site was functioning properly before the move.

The control panel setting look correct to me.

As far as I can tell, there is no htaccess file.

    I’ve cleared cookies.

    I’ve wiped the site cache.

I’ve tried setting the return parameter return parameter on the login_form tag but it doesn’t seem to have any effect.

    It’s EE 1.6.5.

    Any thoughts?

I enabled htaccess on the new server and that seems to have fixed the problem. I don’t understand why this was necessary but hey it works. Thanks.

Are you removing index.php from your URLs? If so, you’d definitely need .htaccess.
