I am in the very early stages of developing a site using v1.6.7, on a shared Windows host. I have successfully created several small field groups, but have just created one with 45 fields, and when I go to publish through this weblog I get the following message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 304307 bytes) in C:\inetpub\websites\editors\essential\core\core.output.php on line 290

I presume that I need to talk to my hosting firm to address the problem, but can you offer any advice on what specific measure they might take?

Surely 45 fields in one weblog is not an extraordinary number?

Increase the memory beyond the somewhat paltry 8 MB… 16 MB should be sufficient for most purposes, although more is better, of course.

    Thanks.

Doubling the allowed memory has solved the problem.

Glad to hear it 😉 Please don’t hesitate to post again as needed.
