Hello - Can the Personal Expresison Engine CMS handle bilingualism in the front and back end ?

I would like to be able to enter in French and English content in a single browser window.
    Publish the content.
Then have the ability to toggle between the two languages on any page within the site.

    So - if I am at :
    http://domain.com/foo/bar/index.php
and toggle to the other language the path is retained :
    http://domain.com/foo/bar/index.php?lang=fr
    (or whatever)

Thanks. If you know of any Expression Engine sites that currently work like this, it would be great if you could pass the URL along to me.

    Thanks!

Welcome to the forums, David! There are a number of approaches to multi-lingual sites, and you can read more about the issue in the wiki. That said, it’s so common that we have a separate category in the showcase for it, so it’s definitely possible.

    Thanks for the direction.
The implementation looks quite straight forward.

david i’m currently working on a billingual site and I’m using the LG multilanguage plugin , works amazingly well, both french and english content are held in the same weblog,

to switch languages and stay on the same page it’s as simple as using this.

    {if lg_lang == 'fr'}<a href="http://./en">English</a> {if:else}<a href="http://./fr">francais</a>{/if}

Guys - thanks a lot for the replies.

It is evident that EE can handle my request!

So far, so good. I’m going ahead with the 10 dollar 30 day trial.
    My hopes are high!
