So I’ve just gotten started with EE after deciding between this and wordpress and I have to say I really like everything so far.

I’m trying to set up a database linked to individual business weblogs dealing with the geocode location of a business listing, using the google maps api, and I’m wondering what the best way to go about this would be.

I would need to make sure that each geocode listing could be related somehow to an individual business, and then maybe see that if the address is updated in the weblog, the geocode would be updated to reflect that.

any thoughts on the best approach would be appreciated

Using custom fields for the address and the coordinates does that nicely. Then the coordinates are available from the entry by the custom field.

I use php to update the lat,lng field(s) in the db from a template, using googlemaps httprequest.
There are some googlemaps/geocode extensions around as well.
