    Hi,

Is anyone here interested in sponsoring a developer to create a facebook connect extension/module for EE?
I`ve been waiting a long time now for Fab-ee hoping it would be released soon, but my site really needs facebook connect and I don`t feel for waiting much longer.
I`m looking at something similar to http://vishalsood.com/projects/drupal/facebook where customers could use their facebook account to login and kickstart their account on my site.

I have no experience with hiring developers.

I would contribute with upto $400 in this project.

    Anyone else interested?

I’d match your 400.00. Have you contacted this existing project?

    Hi,

fabEE is still ongoing. It is taking longer than I expected. Unfortunately, we don’t have the resources to work on it full-time at the moment.

Expect an update fairly shortly since I have done some further work on it very recently.

    Cheers

Hi, we installed Facebook Connect on our site (http://www.greatnonprofits.org) partially on our site - it enables people to sign in with their FB logins.

It was time-consuming and we had to hack core EE code.  Based on our experience, it’s not possible to produce a FB plugin/module.  You will need to hack core EE code.

As a result, we are not going to upgrade to EE 2.0 since we’ve hacked the core.

And we’re still not all the way there - we have not figured out how to publish to people’s FB pages.

    Hi perlani,

It may be difficult but it is possible to do - fabEE does just that and is now available.

    Cheers

That’s great news…I’ll take a look.  Do you know of any sites that have implemented this?

I know of one that is live right now. I’ll ask whether I can give out the URL.

    Cheers
