Moderator’s note: Split from this thread.

    I’m having a RSS issues as well. A couple of weeks ago I had RSS up and running w/ expression engine. But I tried accessing it today, and had this issue. (See Image)

    This is the code i’m using, it’s the template I got from EE.

    {assign_variable:master_weblog_name="blog"}
    {exp:rss:feed weblog="{master_weblog_name}"}

{exp:xml_encode}{weblog_name}{/exp:xml_encode}

{weblog_description}

        <dc:rights>Copyright {gmt_date format="%Y"}</dc:rights>

        <admin:generatorAgent rdf:resource="http://expressionengine.com/" >

    {exp:weblog:entries weblog="{master_weblog_name}" limit="10" rdf="off" dynamic_start="on" disable="member_data|trackbacks"}

{exp:xml_encode}{title}{/exp:xml_encode}

{exp:xml_encode}{summary}{body}{/exp:xml_encode}

          <dc:subject>{exp:xml_encode}{categories backspace="1"}{category_name}, {/categories}{/exp:xml_encode}</dc:subject>

    {/exp:weblog:entries}

    {/exp:rss:feed}

    What version and build of EE are you on? Do you’ve got a link to the feed?

    If we are talking about http://www.simplybeauty.ca/blog/feed then no, there’s no valid feed a this address; the site seems to rewrite all requests to http://www.simplybeauty.ca/home.html.

    My site is offline. In order to view the feed you need to be logged in otherwise it redirects you to http://www.simplybeauty.ca/home.html.

    Well, that’s a shame. Are you sure the same thing is not happening to your feed reader?

    Also, 1.6.7 is the version I’m using. Would you like login information to view this?

    Can you please put a feed in a publicly available location? I am not familiar with Safari as such, but I don’t think it can handle EE authentication, so it will probably run into the same issue as me, ie never gets to see the feed. I would like to rule that out.

    Can you please try to take the default RSS Template and make a new RSS template on your site. Adjust only the weblog setting. when you get that up, please give us a link to see.

    okay cool.. Now try to tweak slowly as you go to make it do what you want, and check changes in the browser very frequently so we can find where it may be breaking.

    Thanks, I’ve tweaked it and have it running the way I want. I find it odd that I was having those problems.
