    Hi Folks,

I have just finished an install & the client would like me to add a link to the manager folder (Which has been renamed). Just so it is easier for him to log in.  But I am hesitant to do that, because it will be a direct link to the “Manager” folder.

What are your thoughts on this? Should I just say No? Or is that a minor issue?

    Thanks,
    Tom

I’d recommend giving him a front-end login link, then presenting the link within a conditional based on username or member group.

You mean a link on the public site? No, I wouldn’t do that. If he insists and you must, consider masking the CP.

    Thanks Guys,

I didn’t really want to put the link on the main site & Lisa, would that mean he would have to log in twice?

Think I’ll try harder to talk him out of it.

I can change the “Manger” folder name, by just changing that, and then the path.php file can’t I? I am using MSM too, so I would change the other sites path.php file. Is there anything else I need to update?

    (edited for punctuation)

Lisa probably refers to the ability to simply add a login form to any public template (meaning you don’t have to use the control panel to login, at all). It’s what I’d do. From there, show a link to the control panel only to those users allowed to access it. No, you wouldn’t have to login twice.
