    Hello,

I have an EE site I’ve been working on, and just today it started randomly delivering white pages to the browser.  On the same page it will deliver the full page no problem for 2, 3, 4, 5 times, then eventually it will deliver the white page.  When it gets there the source is only a small piece of one of my top embeds, no doctype or head or anything.  I’m not getting any errors, just the random white page.  It seems to me that EE is not delivering the page, or isn’t able to assemble the page occasionally.  Is this a database issue?  Should I use Manage Database Tables to do a repair and optimize on everything?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    - EE 1.6.7
    - Multisite Manager installed
    - PHP info shows that display_errors is ON.
    - error_reporting(E_ALL); is set.

Greetings Sync21, and welcome to the forums!

Do you have access to your apache logs?  Anything in there that might give us a clue?  Also, what’s going on in your embedded template that partially renders?

    Hi Greg,

Thanks for the quick reply and welcome.  I’m hosting the site with Engine Hosting, do they provide access to Apache logs?

    Thanks,

Can you please open a ticket with the folks over at EngineHosting, and ask if there are any php errors going on in your error logs, and let us know back here what you find & we’ll get you taken care of!

sync21, can you show us what the embed looks like, and what the rendered source is where it is cut off?  What extensions do you have installed?

Also, what is your debug preference set to at:  Admin ›  System Preferences ›  Output and Debugging Preferences

My Admin ›  System Preferences ›  Output and Debugging Preferences is set at Super Admin level and I was looking as anonymous.  Just checked as Super Admin and it tossed out the following error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function getElementsByTagName() on a non-object in /www/username/public_html/system/core/core.functions.php(637) : eval()‘d code on line 26

    Thanks,

    Sync21

[Mod Edit: Edited out hosting username and control panel folder name for security.]

okay, here’s a trick.  In the error, it’s giving you a clue on where to look with what is going on.  so at the end, we see:  eval()‘d code on line 26.  So, what do you have going on in your embed template around line 26?

    greg,

You are the man.  I had completely gaffed off the idea that it was PHP related, and sure enough there’s a “<?php” right smack at that line.  It’s my code, so I better start by checking it out 😊  Thank you very much for your help with this.
