Sorry if the answer to this is obvious; I couldn’t find anything in the EE documentation.
I know there are a variety of APIs for adding entries to an existing blog, but is there one for creating blogs, catagories, catagory-groups, field-groups, etc? Or should I just alter the database by hand?
I’m writing a script to import data from an old, non-EE database, and I obviously don’t want to have to create all the catagories by hand when they already exist in this older DB. Does the admin interface do anything complicated in the EE database when you add new weblogs, catagories, and fields, or is it just a matter of adding a row to the right table? Is that documented anywhere? (Aside from the EE code itself.)
