    Hello,

I’m new to designing with EE, but I’m a quick learner so please have patience with me. I’m trying to design a site with 3 different blogs (for example, Apples, Oranges, and Pears). However, we also want to have the front page be all of the updates (example: Fruits). I thought it would be easiest to make just a “Fruit” weblog with Apples, Oranges, and Pears as categories but my friend would like to have separate feeds and pages so people only interested in Oranges can just subscribe to that RSS or just visit that page.

However I don’t know how to make multiple blogs on one template. We want the different blogs simply under different tabs on the web page. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

As you’ll find out, EE can be remarkably flexible, and often there’s no single ‘one way’ to do something.

Are the ‘tabs’ on the home page linking to different pages (sections/categories) on the site? Generally, it’s best to create a set of templates for the home page (index), and by ‘set’ I mean using templates to hold EE tags, header, footer, main content, whatever. Templates are often used as ‘includes’ would be in a home-grown PHP CMS. Then create one or more ‘template’ pages for whatever sections/categories you have. But, again, there are many ways to do that.

As to having multiple weblogs display in different sections on the same page, that’s easy enough just using EE’s weblog tags, and changing either the category parameter or the weblog parameter.

    Thanks so much!
I used embed tag to duplicate the design (includes/ header footer nav sidebar) on all 3!
