    Hi,

I’m having the same problem with an install.  I get no error messages of any kind; I get to page 5 of the install, and it’s just the EE 1.6.7 header, purple background and an otherwise empty page, and the install has not completed.  I verified all of the install information, e.g. database name & mysql user credentials.  I’m installing to a Windows NT server, if that matters.

    Please help!

    imolta,

Try running the server wizard from the EE requirements page if you haven’t done so already.

If you are installing on a windows server make sure all your folder and file permissions are correct. On shared windows hosting you will more than likely have to get your host to set the permission of your config and path files.

Do you know how much php memory you have, your host should be able to tell you this?

Thanks for the reply, John.  Looks like MySQL support in PHP isn’t enabled; I’ll have to talk to the server admin about getting that changed.  If I have further problems, I’ll reply in this thread.

    Thanks again!

    imolta,

Great, thanks for the update. I’ll keep this open for you. No need to reply until you have news.

    Hello again,

We got the first problem resolved and I no longer receive a blank page when installing.  Now, however, I receive an error on page 5: “Error: unable to write the config file.”  (Page otherwise appears as before, with EE 1.6.7 header & purple background.)

I verified that the appropriate files noted in the installation doc were set to writeable in IIS.  Any insight?

    Thanks again!

It sounds like a permissions issue of sorts. Make sure that config.php can be written to by the web server / PHP. Details will depend on your local environment.
