We have multi site manager running and we are having problems with urls losing what we type in. Basically we have a staff intranet and a public website. We are posting on the staff side but linking to something on the public site.

    Here is the example:

Link is suppose to be: http://publicside.tscpl.org/linkgoeshere

it is being rewritten to this:  /linkgoeshere

Which then displays as this: http://staffside.tscpl.org/linkgoeshere

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

When you say “URL are being rewritten”, where & how do you enter them? Also, which version and build of EE are you on?

    1.6.7

When we post into the body (using TinyMCE)

I just did another test and put in different urls

    http://www.msnbc.com/test did not get rewritten
staff.tscpl.org/test did not get rewritten (this is the site I am posting to)
http://www.tscpl.org/test does get rewritten to /test

I am guessing that it has to do with the control panel.

    michael:
Can you please do a quick test and turn off your extensions at:  Admin -> Utilities -> Extensions Manager and try posting a new entry so we can see if TinyMCE is the problem here.

Changing the field to text area allows the link to remain. As soon as I change it to wysiwyg it changes the link.

    Micahel,

This is in fact a TinyMCE setting. See here

I have come across it myself before. You will have to add this to the settings in your extension.

Moving this to HowTo for anybody else running into similar issues

    HI there,

I am using the following settings for my TinyMCE settings:

    relative_urls : false,
    remove_script_host : true,
    document_base_url : “http://www.caringseniorservice.com.php5-15.websitetestlink.com/”,
    convert_urls : true,

But the absolute URL of the images are still not showing up. I need the absolute path included because I am using MSM and sharing images across several sites.

    Any ideas?

    EE 1.6.8
    LG TinyMCE w/ tinybrowser
