    I am having some issues with posting an entry with an embedded video to a site I’m working on.

    The code which the player gives to embed is

    [removed][removed]

    but when we actually post the weblog entry with this code in a basic text field it outputs:

    Reposted from: <a href="http://durham.mync.com/site/durham/news|Sports|Lifestyles/story/32782/young-durham-football-players-get-1000-scholarships">http://durham.mync.com/site/durham/news|Sports|Lifestyles/story/32782/young-durham-football-players-get-1000-scholarships</a>

    We are able to embed YouTube videos just fine but this video player doesn’t seem to work.

    Does anyone know why this is occurring and what I can do to fix it?

    Thanks!

    Hiya,

    I am going to have to hazard a guess on this one I’m afraid as your code isn’t showing above so I don’t really have a lot to go on, sorry.

    Try going to :

    Admin->Weblog Administration->Weblog Management->Edit Preferences (Your Weblog)->Weblog Posting Preferences->Automatically turn URLs and email addresses into links?

    Set that to No and see if that fixes it up for you.

    Hope that helps a bit.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

    Thanks for your quick response Mark.

    I have already tried setting “Automatically turn URLs and email addresses into links?” to No but unfortunately it does not fix the issue.

    Any other ideas?

    Not without seeing the code which isn’t in your first post I’m afraid 😉

    Also a link to the site would be very handy too. Seeing things first hand is always a good thing with issues like this. I’m afraid without knowing more about what you are placing and where you are placing it and exactly what is happening this will be difficult to track down. Could just be a path issue or it might be the { } braces in some javascript being taken out as they are used for ExpressionEngine tags. There is a config.php variable that can get around this :

    $conf['protect_javascript'] = 'n';

    Documentation Link

    That might help but really without seeing more of the code you are using and how you are entering the code into your entry it’s very difficult to say.

    Sorry for not giving more info up front.

    you can view the entry here: http://www.durhamcares.org/index.php/blog/comments/durham_elite_eagles_win_scholarships/

    The code I’m using for the entry is

    <div class="inner_content_floatImg">
    {content}
    {if blog_video}<br> {blog_video}<br><br>{/if}
    <div class="spacer"></div>

    {content} is just a TinyMCE custom field and {blog_video) is the text field that I’m entering the embed code into.

    Please let me know if you need more info.

    Thanks

    Hiya,

    Just wondering what the problem was as it looks like the page is working fine now. I can view the embedded video on that page fine.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

    It looks like it was the script the video player was spitting out.  We contacted the main company who supplied the video and described the video and now everything works fine.

    Thanks for your help though.
