I have a few different How Tos but they are for the same site and thus posted together.

Note: I have yet to build an EE site but have played around and read two books.

    1) We’re creating a health information library. Articles will be weblog entries and hopefully organized by categories and tags. As the site grows we would like to have an A to Z index like http://my.clevelandclinic.org/default.aspx. Is it possible to have the results display first Categories starting with the letter, second Articles starting with the particular letter?

    2) Is it possible to use the Simple Payment Module to have renewable membership fees? For example, we would like to have a $50 membership fee for our health care professionals (HCP) to support their site. Upon payment they will get into the HCP group. After a year without payment they will get bumped down to regular group.

    3) On that last note, is it possible to have an ‘invitation code’. A HCP will be required to input the correct invitation code before they can get into the HCP group. This protects regular patients from getting access to HCP section.

    4) Has anyone used a good PSD to XHTML service, or better yet, a PSD to ExpressionEngine service? How good is the quality, and also, are they able to do forum templates? If not, how easy is it to take XHTML/CSS and turn into a forum theme?

    Thanks for your input!

    1.  Possible, yes.  But not out-of-the-box.  You’ll need to create a custom solution.  It’s not that hard if you know PHP + SQL.

    2.  Again, it’s possible but not out-of-the-box.  Many integrate services like aMember to provide subscriptions.  On the two occasions that I’ve had to do something like this, I just set up a simple SQL query and a cron job.  It’s not the most elegant solution, but it works.

    3.  This is a feature of Solspace’s User module.  So, again possible but not out-of-the-box.  A ready-made solution does exist for that, however.  See solspace.com for more details.

    4.  I haven’t, so I can’t comment on that.
