    Hi,

I have a real puzzle here and I’m pretty sure that I don’t look at it the right way.

What we have: A magazine that published comics strips from several authors (the authors don’t have any access to the backoffice).
So I created 3 weblogs : Issues, Comics and Authors and linked Comics to the two others through relationships fields.

This works perfectly for the Issues page where we display the issue and all comics in this issue (reverse_related_entries).

In the comics page we would like to display the chosen comic, the author informations and every comic from this author. This page should also feature all comics in this issue.

Except from getting the author informations (related_entries) I can’t figure out how to do it.

Could someone give me a hand and point me in the right direction ?

    Thanks

Can you show us what you’ve got so far? What exactly are you attempting that’s not working as expected? Also, on which version and build of EE are you?

We are using EE latest available version 1.6.7.

    AUTHORS
    author-bio (textarea)

    COMICS
    comic-author (related to AUTHORS)
    comic-issue (related to MAGAZINES)

    MAGAZINES
    mag-edito (textarea)
    mag-publish_date (date)

On the magazine page we would like to display the following elements :
    - The front cover,
    - The editorial.
    - A list of all comics issued in this mag.

On the comic show page we would like to display the following elements :
    - The comic itself,
    - The author-bio, this is working fine via ee related_entries tag,
    - A list of all comics from the author of this comic,
    - A list of all comics issued in the same magazine.

The problem comes from building the lists. I can’t figure out what ee tag could help.
I thought reverse relationships would do the trick but sadly it seams a bit more complicated.

    Hope this helps.

    svenf,

I am going to move this to the ‘How To’ forum and open it up for discussion. I remember quite a few threads on magazine style sites and esp around the whole issue-relationship topics.

Can you provide some of what you have in your templates at the moment. Your url’s structure would probably be a good starting point also. What do you want that to look like? Have you any constraints?

Thank you, I though I posted it there in the first place but like my double post makes it obvious I had some troubles when posting (lack of sleep).

I’ll search for magazine style sites, but I already looked around relationships topics without any luck so far.

You can see the url structure in the screenshots:
    http://tcw/index.php/mag/turkey-4 and http://tcw/index.php/comic/convoi

This is the current state, I would rather have something like :
    http://tcw/index.php/mag/turkey-4/comic/convoi

    Or even better :
    http://tcw/index.php/mag/turkey-4/convoi

But once again I am stucked and didn’t find anything in the forum about cascading weblogs/channels.
I looked around even the EE main site doesn’t have such a structure, it uses categories instead which are not practical at all in this case.
