How do I do this?
In other words I’d like to display an excerpt of, say, the body field and continue it with a permalink link to a single entry page.

I’ve been unable to find this in the docs or via a cursory search on “excerpt”

Can someone advise me where to learn more and perhaps see some example code?

There are a couple of options (plugins):

- Word Limit
- Char Limit
- Word Limit Plus
- TruncHTML
- Eexcerpt
