I am getting the following error when trying to load closed entries.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ELSE in /path/to/ee/ee_sys/core/core.functions.php(637) : eval()‘d code on line 36

I have determined the following code is causing the parse error but cannot find any problems with it. Can anyone provide a second set of eyes please?

I’ve tried changing the nested {if:else} to another {if} but the error still occurs.

    Thanks!

Addendum: This only happens on entries no longer set to display. Open entries (commentable or not) parse and display without any errors.

What version and build of EE are you on? You’ll probably need to do some reduction testing, starting with a clean template and add things to it until it fails (or vice versa, of course, removing this until it works. Either way, we’ll get a greatly simplified template).
